Having a baby is exciting, but it can be CRAZY expensive too. You need to buy nappies and clothing, bedding, pushchairs, carseats. Oh my!

Fortunately, there are lots of baby freebies that expectant parents and new babies in the UK can get. From free nappies to free cake at Marks and Spencer, bottles, dummies, baby skincare and much more.

If you are pregnant you can get freebies of everything from samples of nappies and baby milk and to helpful planners, vital information for your pregnancy, birth and baby care right up to and your baby's development up to one year and beyond.

Here are all our favourite free baby stuff, including free baby samples, and pregnancy freebies for Mum.

Plus there are lots of money off vouchers for mums-to-be so that you can get discounts on everything you need for baby.

Also, expectant mothers in the UK are entitled to many benefits from the UK government, from free dental care and prescriptions to maternity benefits and grants. The devolved Scottish and Welsh Governments also offer a free baby box to residents too.

Baby Freebies & Free Stuff For Pregnant Mums

Most of these require you to sign up online to revieve your freebies, although some of them are obtained via your midwife.

  1. Emma's Diary

    Emma's Diary offer a bag of free stuff for pregnant women. Typical freebies including free mini pregnancy & baby products to try before you buy,

    Plus they also offer a free pregnancy tracker app and discounts on baby gear such as car seats, travel systems and nursery furniture.

  2. Get A Free Gift With An Amazon Wishlist

    Create an Amazon Baby Wishlist to get a free gift when you spend £10 with your Baby Wishlist. Create your wish list, purchase at least £10 of baby stuff and claim a useful free gift.

    At time of writing there is a choice of gifts which includes a baby bottles, or a pack of dummies.

    Plus you can save 15% on items from your baby wishlist, terms and conditions apply.

  3. The Parent Hood

    Marks and Spencer have created The Parent Hood, a new community for new parents where at selected branches with a cafe you can get a free slice of cake when you buy a hot drink and attend one of their weekly parent & baby mornings.

    Members also get 10% off all babygrows at M&S for the first 12 months. You just need to sign up to their Sparks loyalty scheme to claim your freebies.

  4. Boots Parenting Club

    Boots Parenting Club You need to have a Boots Advantage card to join up, then club members get extra Advantage points, a magazine packed with parenting advice, free gifts and special offers.

    At time of writing, they are offering a free Aveeno Baby Daily Care Hair & Bodywash 500ml when you sign up.

  5. Parentclub

    Parentclub is a Scotland based website who are offering every baby born in Scotland a free baby box packed full of clothes, bedding and lots of other useful things to help give your baby the best possible start in life. 

    The box can be used as a bed for a newborn baby too. Putting your newborn in a cardboard box is common practice across Finland and has been shown to reduce infant mortality. Apply for your box through your midwife.

  6. Welsh Government Baby Bundle

    The Welsh Government offers a free Baby Bundle to residents of Wales. The bundle includes essential items to support new parents and their babies. Baby Bundles also include useful information and advice about parenting and support programmes.

    Your midwife will register you for the bundle at around the 25th week of your pregnancy.

  7. Free Baby On Board Badge

    If you travel by train regularly while you are pregnant, you will want to be sure that you can get a seat. Several rail operators offer free "Baby On Board" badges for pregnant mums to wear, to make asking for a seat a little easier.

    Also remember where priority seats are available, being pregnant is one of the criteria for using one of these seats.

    • Do you travel on C2C trains? If you live in the South East of England and travel by train you can get a free Baby on Board badge! It makes asking for a seat much easier when you need to rest during pregnancy.
    • If you live in the Transport for London area they also offer their own 'baby on board' badge to pregnant mums.
    • Southeastern also offer a badge, and a Priority Seating Card to show when requesting a priority seat. You have to scroll a long way to find the section.
    • South Western Railway also offer a Baby on Board badge and a Mum-to-Be pack.
    • greateranglia will give Mums-to-be a free First Class upgrade for Standard Class ticket holders in your last eight weeks of pregnancy before maternity leave. You will need a photocard and provide a letter from your employer or GP. You can also request a Baby on Board badge too.
  8. Ella's Kitchen

    Ella's Kitchen, makers of tasty baby food are offering a free weaning pack when you join their Ella's Friends club, along with regular offers, tips and competitions.

  9. £70 Voucher Towards Reusable Nappies in London

    If you live in a participating London Borough, the Real Nappies for London scheme will give you a £70 voucher towards the upfront cost of buying reusable nappies, or put towards a trial paid-for laundry service.

  10. Free Huggies Drynites

    Huggies are also offering a free sample of their Drynites Pyjama Pants for older children.

  11. Nuby Baby Club

    St. John's Ambulance are offering a free baby first aid guide which is a pocket sized guide that gives you essential baby first aid advice.

    (Hint. Read it before baby arrives, so that you already know what to do, rather than having to read it while you are panicking.)

  15. Free Preganancy Printables

    Stay organised all through your pregnancy with our Free Pregnancy Printables including a birth plan, hospital bag checklist and new baby shopping list.

  16. MAM Club
